March 18, 2014: Teens Face Charges For La Habra Heights Mansion Break In

More than a dozen teens have been charged in connection with breaking into a La Habra Heights mansion last November and throwing a party, which caused more than $1 million in losses and damages, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Twelve males and two females, ranging in age from 15 to 18, were charged in separate cases. All are facing one count of misdemeanor trespassing, while nine are charged with one count of felony burglary.

Other charges filed against some of the teens include grand theft, receiving stolen property and petty theft.

Investigators said more than 100 people partied at a vacant 90,000-square-foot mansion in La Habra Heights between Nov. 23 and Nov. 24, 2013. The home was trashed and looted. Among the items stolen were designer clothing, medieval armor and a mounted snow leopard.

All 14 have been cited and are scheduled to appear at an initial hearing tomorrow in Pomona Juvenile Court, Department 281.

Those charged are:

  • 16-year-old boy (dob 7/17/97), charged in case KJ38599 with misdemeanor trespassing, petty theft and charging for admission to a party in a residential area
  • 16-year-old boy (dob 4/10/97), charged in case KJ38600 with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor trespassing and charging for admission to a party in a residential area
  • 18-year-old man (dob 1/19/96), charged in case KJ38593 with felony residential burglary and grand theft, misdemeanor trespassing
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 10/4/96), charged in case KJ38594 with felony residential burglary and grand theft, misdemeanor trespassing
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 7/20/96), charged in case KJ38592 with felony residential burglary and grand theft, misdemeanor trespassing
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 9/29/96), charged in case KJ38603 with felony residential burglary, grand theft, receiving stolen property, misdemeanor trespassing
  • 15-year-old girl (dob 11/22/98), charged in case KJ38604 with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor trespassing
  • 15-year-old boy (dob 8/14/98), charged in case KJ38597 with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor trespassing
  • 18-year-old man (dob 12/6/95), charged in case KJ38601 with felony residential burglary and misdemeanor trespassing
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 1/22/97), charged in case KJ38602 with misdemeanor trespassing
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 9/25/96), charged in case KJ38609 with misdemeanor trespassing
  • 16-year-old boy (dob 6/28/97), charged in case KJ38608 with misdemeanor trespassing and petty theft
  • 17-year-old boy (dob 11/15/96), charged in case KJ38610 with misdemeanor trespassing and petty theft
  • 16-year-old girl (dob 3/13/98), charged in case KJ38598 with felony residential burglary, receiving stolen property and misdemeanor trespassing

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
