A Panorama City man has been charged with more than 20 armed robberies in the San Fernando Valley, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

Andre Terail Wilks aka Andre Terail Love (dob 4/17/79) faces a total of 60 felony counts: 22 counts of assault with a firearm; 18 counts of kidnapping; 16 counts of second-degree robbery; and four counts of attempted second-degree robbery.

Deputy District Attorney Ranna Jahanshahi said the complaint includes allegations that a handgun was used and that Wilks has previous convictions that include robbery and burglary.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges today and is scheduled back on March 27 in Department 122 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch. Case LA084898 was filed for warrant on Dec. 14, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint, the robberies reportedly occurred for a one-year period beginning in January 2015. Wilks allegedly targeted restaurants that were closing or already closed, often forcing his way in by holding up employees that were leaving at the end of their shift, the prosecutor said.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division.
