A Baldwin Park man pleaded no contest today to entering a Covina hotel room that was not his and sexually assaulting a young girl, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Michelle Graves said Douglas Rivera entered the plea to one felony count of lewd act upon a child.

Rivera was immediately sentenced to six years in state prison and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

On Feb. 7, 2018, Rivera drove to a hotel in the 1200 block of East Garvey Street in Covina and parked his vehicle in front of a room where two young girls were staying.

The defendant then entered the hotel room and inappropriately touched one of the girls, the prosecutor said.

Case KA117858 was investigated by the Covina Police Department.
