February 9, 2017: Man Charged with Killing Wife in Valinda

A 32-year-old man was charged today with fatally stabbing his wife in their San Gabriel Valley home, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Ricky Ramos Jr. (dob 11/3/84) has been charged with one count of murder in case KA114538. The felony complaint includes a special allegation that the defendant personally used a dangerous and deadly weapon, a knife, during the commission of the crime.

Ramos is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department F of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. Prosecutors will ask that bail be set at $2.02 million.

On the evening of Feb. 6, sheriff’s deputies were called to a home located in the 16300 block of Doublegrove Street in Valinda. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found victim Socorro Munoz dead, prosecutors said.

Ramos, the victim’s husband, was arrested in connection with the killing.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 26 years to life in state prison.

The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
