July 3, 2019: Attempted Murder Charge Filed for Random Burbank Attack

A man was charged today for beating a 63-year-old woman with a glass bottle in a Burbank alley, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Hector Manuel Ulloa (dob 12/21/67) of San Bernardino faces one count of attempted murder with allegations of causing great bodily injury and using a glass bottle as a deadly and dangerous weapon.

Ulloa is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department 1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Burbank Branch.

The defendant is alleged to have randomly attacked the woman as she walked near the 1400 block of North San Fernando Boulevard on July 1, prosecutors said.

If convicted as charged, Ulloa faces a possible maximum sentence of 43 years to life in state prison. Bail is set at $1.165 million dollars.

The case remains under investigation by the Burbank Police Department.
